We are based in the south Caribbean of Costa Rica and specialize in tropical plant-based food, fermented foods and beverages. Our mission is to nourish the mind, body and soul with delicious and nutritious culinary creations and educate others about the wonders of the world of fermentation.

Who We Are

Kiersun Jones is a biologist and fungi enthusiast who left academia in the US to go live in the jungle, where he developed a passion for fermentation and working with local, exotic tropical ingredients. Mad scientist and founder of The Fun Guy Kombucha.
Crysthal Mendez is a trained chef from Venezuela. She has taken her traditional training and combined it with intuitive cooking to consistently create culinary masterpieces using ingredients on hand. Transformative idea specialist and founder of CoraZana Vegana.

Our Work

While we are constantly exploring new ideas, we have a set of core fermentation projects that are ongoing. Kombucha, Water Kefir, Tempeh, Sauerkraut, Plant-based cheeses and Fermented Hot Sauces. Combined with our cooking niche expertise we create full-flavored culinary experiences that will leave your mouth watering for more. Our products are available locally in the Puerto Viejo area.
